We agreed on a phone call, it didn’t happen in the end, and you unexpectedly started sending me emails about insomnia. Lord and God… how I thank you for them. I gave it a chance (because usually such unwanted messages go straight to the trash) and by doing so, I made a significant shift. Since the last email, I’ve been sleeping like a baby. I used to be where you are now. Sleepless and misunderstood. I longed to have someone by my side who would understand what I was going through and guide me on the right path out of insomnia. Thanks to my experience, I’m in a position where I can help people suffering from chronic insomnia to start sleeping their own sleep again without medication.

I've always reacted sensitively to negative changes in life with sleep problems. However, it was short-term, I didn't address it. Five years ago, such a night happened again, then a second, a third. This time, however, I got stuck in it. As evening approached, I thought more and more about how I would sleep, I felt anxiety, I was afraid of the night. I was tired, very tired. But when I lay down in bed, I was suddenly alert, my heart was beating wildly. Of course, I didn't fall asleep. The longer I lay in bed, the worse it got. Eventually, I ended up on medication, diagnosed with depression. Well, who wouldn't be depressed when they can't sleep? No one around me had such a problem, after all, "you lie down and sleep, what's the problem?" No information on the internet either, just articles about how much you should sleep to be OK. The situation gradually calmed down, and after a few years, I decided to stop the medication. It was fine for a long time, until some worries came again and one sleepless night produced another. While searching for a way out of the vicious circle, I came across Veronika and connected with her. During our conversation, I found out that I suffer from learned insomnia. And there is a way out!!! So we arranged online meetings where she gradually introduced me to CBT for insomnia. I learned how “not to "feed"” my insomnia, to accept it and thus gradually get rid of it. Because it was the excessive attention that was reinforcing my insomnia. I'm very grateful to Veronika for opening my eyes and showing me the way out of the vicious circle of learned insomnia ❤️

Learned insomnia is a condition where sleep ceases to be natural and automatic – usually after a period of stress or poor sleep, a fear of not sleeping develops, which disrupts sleep even more. The more we try to sleep, the more sleep eludes us.

Yes. If sleep has been troubling you for several weeks, months, or years and isn’t improving despite all efforts, it’s very likely that learned insomnia plays a role. You don’t need an exact diagnosis – just openness to a different approach.

Yes, definitely. Many of my clients were taking medication – some have already stopped, others are still using them. The approach I use isn’t about or against medication – we learn how to trust our body and sleep again. Weaning off medication is completely individual and never forced.

No. My approach is based on understanding, not techniques. We don’t need more effort, but less control. Instead, we focus on why you’re not sleeping – not how to fall asleep.

That’s very individual. Some people start noticing changes in the first weeks, others need more time. Change comes not from trying to sleep, but from starting to understand sleep and stopping fighting it
